Cookie Policy

What this website stores on your device, why, and how to change your mind at any time.

Last updated 7 September 2026

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website, thirdsectorbee.com. The ThirdSectorBee application at app.thirdsectorbee.com is covered by our Privacy Policy.

The tables below cover everything this website causes to be stored on your device. Where a third party stores something on its own domain rather than ours, we say so and point you at them, because we can tell you what happens but not what they have chosen to call it or how long they keep it.

Your choices

When you first visit we ask whether you are happy for us to use anything beyond the strictly necessary. Nothing in the Functional, Analytics or Marketing categories below is used unless you turn it on, and declining is a single click: “Reject all” is a full button on the banner, exactly as easy to press as “Accept all”.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences button in the footer of every page. It opens the same preferences panel as the banner’s “Manage preferences” button.

Strictly necessary

Always on. These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot do its job without them.

Name Purpose Set by Expires
cc_cookie Remembers the choices you make here, and which set of categories you were asked about, so we do not ask again on every page This website 182 days (about six months) from the day you choose

We write it when you make a choice. It holds your category choices, the version number of the category set you were asked about, the date you chose, the site language, the date it expires, and a random reference for that consent record — a consentId, so a choice can be shown to have been recorded. Nothing about who you are or what you looked at. It is a first-party cookie: nobody but this site can read it, and no third party receives it.

Functional

Off unless you turn it on. It covers one thing: the scheduling calendar on our booking page, which comes from Cal.id.

Name Purpose Set by Expires
Cal.id booking cookies Runs the embedded booking calendar. Loading it lets Cal.id set its own cookies and gives Cal.id your IP address and browser information. Cal.id (third party) Set by Cal.id — see their own cookie and privacy notices

We cannot name those cookies or their lifetimes here, and we cannot delete them for you: they belong to Cal.id and are set on Cal.id’s domain, not ours. Turning this category off stops the calendar immediately — if it is open on the page in front of you, we reload that page so it stops running — and stops us loading it again. It does not remove anything Cal.id has already stored. Your browser settings will.

With this category off, nothing is sent to Cal.id. The booking page loads without the calendar and offers you two routes instead:

  • a short explanation of what loading the calendar involves, and a Load the booking calendar button. Pressing that button is your consent — we record it, so the calendar loads straight away next time and Functional shows as on in your preferences. It turns on Functional and nothing else;
  • a Book directly on Cal link, which is always shown, including with JavaScript turned off. Following it takes you to Cal.id’s own site, where their policies apply.

Analytics

Off unless you turn it on. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and which are not.

The Google tag is not loaded at all until you consent, so before then no request is made to Google Analytics and no analytics cookie is set. Nothing is queued up waiting.

Name Purpose Set by Expires
_ga Distinguishes one visitor from another Google’s tag, stored on this website’s domain 2 years — Google’s default, which we do not change
_ga_<id> Keeps session state for this website’s Google Analytics property. <id> is our measurement ID with its G- prefix removed. Google’s tag, stored on this website’s domain 2 years — Google’s default, which we do not change

These two sit under thirdsectorbee.com rather than a Google domain, so your browser treats them as ours. The data does not stay with us: turning this category on sends information about your visit to Google, who receive your IP address along with it and handle it under their own terms.

If you turn this category off having previously turned it on, we delete these cookies.

Marketing

We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies. This category appears in your preferences so that if we ever add one, the choice you have already recorded is respected from the first page load rather than asked for afterwards.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and that is the route to removing anything a third party has set. Doing so for the strictly necessary cookie means we will ask for your choices again on every visit, because the record of your choice is itself what that cookie holds.

Changes to this policy

If we change our cookie categories we will ask for your choices again, and tell you why you are being asked, rather than assuming your previous answer covers something you were never offered.
